St. John's Harbour
We all dwell in a house of one room - the world with firmament for its roof - and are sailing the celestial spaces without leaving any track.
John Muir 1838-1914

This page will help acquaint you with a few things you will need to know before boarding the Porpoise.

 -Boat and Travelling Etiquette
  • We try to maintain a low-impact, environmentally aware co-existance with nature. Please remove any excess packaging from things you bring aboard. Garbage is a concern in this region. When ashore, bring all disposables back with youdeck shoe.
  • To reduce scratches and marring, please wear soft-soled, non-scuffing shoes while onboard.
  • soft bagPack your belongings in a soft bag. Hard suitcases do not stow well on a sailboat.
  • Carefully follow instructions for discharging waste and using boat systems.
  • For your protection and ease of mind, please review safety and use of equipment procedures before the journey begins.
  • Try not to yell too loudly when spotting a pod of Orcas.
  • Try not to drop your camera overboard when photographing Rhinoceros Auklets.
  • Let everyone know when there are dolphins at the bow.
  • Have fun, relax and enjoy the ride.
